shelves of twenty-twenty four.

A New Year’s resolution. Perhaps that’s where the reason originated. Although the task started as wanting to read more books in a year, my mind conceived something different for me. On top of wanting to delve into various types of literature, something was edging me to also write about it. To seek and talk through, resolution and concepts, from the edge of my fingertips. To delve into myself and hopefully create a community that wants to do the same.

I wouldn’t call myself a professional critic, by any means. More of an imaginary. A woman looking for answers by opening up the curtains, drawing the blinds, and finally seeing the light in between the lines of other people’s wisdom. I open a novel and soak in the prose, the vocabulary, and the imagery, and I begin to learn and experience new things about myself every time. I learn more about how the world works, relationships, emotions, the mind, and the spirit…all through the various books being read.

Therefore, I hope a community can be built under the circumstances of feeling, intuition, logic, poetry, beauty…and being embraced by past works and other’s words. This collection contains novels that I would recommend to anybody! It is full of eclectic choices that I hope to enjoy with all of you that are intrigued. I want to begin the conversation and learn from one another. What can we say of relationships? How do we see the world? What does our past say about our present? There is so much beauty to discover!! What better way than by connecting through literature?
